Interpretation

Whilst stimulating TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb) may be associated with Graves’ disease (and help to distinguish from other causes of hyperthyroidism), this assay also detects inhibiting or neutral antibodies. Results should be interpreted in full context, including TFTs.

Please note that TSH Receptor Antibodies are now performed in Endolab on the Roche Cobas e402 with a new reference interval. Results from the previous ELISA method are NOT comparable.
