Mycoplasma pneumoniae DNA

Diagnostic Use

Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MPN) is a common cause of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), especially in children and young adults. Due to its slow growth and fastidious nature, traditional culture methods for detection are time-consuming and often impractical in clinical settings. Real-time PCR has emerged as a reliable method for rapid and sensitive detection of M. pneumoniae from respiratory samples such as throat swabs, nasopharyngeal aspirates, and sputum.
